March 2 - 6 is known as National Read Across America Week. This week is the nation's largest celebration of reading. The National Education Association (NEA) established this week of celebration to educate on the importance of reading and its benefits, especially for young children and adults. MCL Detachment 1347 was invited by Brooklyn Avenue Elementary School on March 1st, 2024 to take part in the National Read Across America event.

Our dedicated officers landed in Washington, DC, yesterday for the 2024 Marine Corps League National Mid-Winter Conference.
They are ready to engage, learn, and represent our detachment with pride!

The MCL National Mid-Winter Conference is a mid-year training event hosted and coordinated by the MCL national organization. It is open to all members in good stand of the Marine Corps League.

The hotel overlooks Arlington National Cemetery and is right near Henderson Hall and the Fort Myer Exchange. Thursday arrivals & stores are open in the afternoon.

On Jan. 26, the Consul General of Japan in Los Angeles welcomed US Military Officers, service members, reservists, and veterans previously stationed in Japan to a reception at the Official Residence. MCL Detachment 1347 had the opporunity to be part of this amazing event. The reception sought to encourage service members and their families to continue their friendship with Japan
